My Trip To Wales 2025. Visit between the 15th and 19th of October 2025.

Stayed at Premier Inn at Porthmadog, North Wales (3 nights) and Llantrisant, South Wales (1 night).

Cities and places I visited when in Wales:

Porthmadog, North Wales - Cob Records, Ffestiniog Welsh Highlands Railway Station, Portmeirion, Sheep (baa), Snowdon (Snowdon Mountain Railway).

Cob Records - Founded in 1967 in Porthmadog, Wales, Cob Records began as a small business selling ex-jukebox singles. It quickly expanded into new records and online sales, building a reputation that attracted customers from across the UK and overseas. Over the years, Cob Records became a cornerstone of Wales’s independent music scene, known for its wide selection, knowledgeable staff, and dedication to vinyl culture. I visited this place and found it incredibly interesting, unfortunately, I didn’t get any records while I was there.

Portmeirion - It's is a beautiful Italianate village in North Wales, created by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975. Blending Mediterranean style with Welsh scenery, it’s famous for its colourful buildings, scenic setting, and as the filming location of the 1960s TV series The Prisoner. The views over looking the harbour at low tide were stunning as seen in the pictures, I took.

Snowdon National Park - The Snowdon Mountain Railway, opened in 1896, takes visitors to the summit of Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales, nestled in the heart of the historic Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.

Llandudno - Maisie’s Chocolate Shop.

This was my first visit to North Wales, and I absolutely loved the picturesque scenic views of the mountains, rural landscapes, Snowdonia National Park and coastlines. There’s so much more to explore, and I highly recommend visiting North Wales over South Wales. It’s more rural, relaxing, and great for mental health.

Travelling south from North Wales - Devils Bridge Waterfalls, Craig Goch Dam.

Devils Bridge Waterfalls - Is a famous natural attraction where the River Mynach plunges into a deep, scenic gorge, crossed by three stacked bridges built over centuries.

Llantrisant, South Wales - Royal Mint Experience.

Royal Mint Experience - Located in South Wales, the Royal Mint Experience offers a fascinating journey through over 1,100 years of coin-making history, where visitors can watch coins being struck and discover the story of British currency. Cardiff, South Wales - Cardiff Bay - Wales Millennium Centre, Roald Dahl Plass, Pierhead Building, Fabulous Welsh Cakes, Cardiff Docks.

Fabulous Welsh Cakes in Cardiff serves freshly baked traditional Welsh cakes made by hand, offering a delicious taste of Welsh heritage.

What are Welsh cakes?
Welsh cakes are traditional treats from Wales made with flour, butter, sugar, eggs, and currants. They’re cooked on a griddle, not baked, giving them a soft texture and golden surface. Once popular with miners as a snack, they’re now enjoyed warm with sugar and tea.
